Memories In Bintan...
Day 1 was a very tiring day (but fun though). We had to climb Mount Bintan, which is 3 times higher than Bukit Timah Hill. There were lots and lots of challenges that we face. It was really exhausting and difficult. I had to stop for a moment before continuing the climb. I had lots of help from Haliza, Elleora, Keisha and Afrina. Thanks to them ( and myself ), I managed to climb to the summit of the mountain. Going down the mountain is far more dangerous and challenging. It was even painful.
After getting all muddy and sweaty, we finally went to a resort called 'Agro Beach Resort'. It was really beautiful. When my roommate and I went to our room, we were amazed. It had a balcony and it was also beautiful. After our bath, we went to a restaurant in the resort and ate there. I had rice with soup and fried chicken. After finishing our dinner, we went to the beach to play a game called Animal Call. The game was really fun to play. There was also a learning point for the game. I learnt that we should sometimes listen and wait and not always make noises. After the game, we finally had our personal time and went to bed. It felt really good to sleep after the exhausting day.

Day 2: Day 2 is the most saddest day of the whole Bintan trip. First,we ate at a different restaurant ( but it is still in the resort ). The food there were DELICIOUS!! After filling up our stomachs, we went to an air conditioned room. There, we discussed what we plan to do at the orphanage later. We had quite good ideas. After all the discussion, we began our journey to the fish collection.
There, we could see many different types of fishes and fishermen. The fishermen had just finish catching the fishes and were busy storing their fishes. Then, there was a man who caught my eyes. He was cutting the fins of baby sharks to make fin soup. I was so surprised when my instructor said he would throw the fishes back to the sea after cutting all their fins.
After the the trip to the fish collection, we headed to the landfill. We were not allowed to get off the bus as our instructor told us that the smell is even stronger after the rain ( it was after the rain during that time ). So, we just look through the window of the bus. It was pretty sad to see a land full of rubbish. There were even a village nearby. I was told that the villagers ( also known as the scavengers ) would go to the rubbish dump and collect things that can still be used. I felt sad for them as they had to wake up every morning with an unpleasant smell and having mosquito bites. They had no choice but to live there. :(
Next on the list, we went to the Water Village. We could see lots and lots of houses near the water. As I walked pass those houses, I could see some houses made up of aluminium. Some of the villagers there were rich and could afford to buy beautiful decorations for their houses. When I look at the water around those houses, I was disgusted to see so many litters there. I was told that they would just throw their rubbish in the water. In my opinion, I think that they should be responsible and help to save the environment by not littering there. But sadly, they do not think that way.
We went to "Ayam Penyet Restaurant" and had our lunch there. The food was simply delicious. The 'sambal' was very very spicy. Some of the boys even tried and ate the 'sambal'. After lunch, we went to "Rama Yana Shopping Centre". We bought some useful things for the orphanage and for ourselves. We bought in a group leaded by an instructor/ teacher. Instructor Afiq leaded us during the shopping for the orphanage. We bought some toothbrushes, toothpaste, biscuits and more.
Then, we visited the orphanage. I was really touched when they ran ( barefooted ) just to greet us. Most of them were shy when they first saw us. When we were instructed to make a paper mask and exchange with the one of the orphans, Sakina and I made the paper mask together. We also gathered some orphans to join us to make the mask. Then we were supposed to be in groups of 7. The orphans who were with us gathered some of their friends and we finally made a group. We were instructed to make a paper plane and challenged other groups to see whose plane flew the furthest. So the orphans, Sakina and I made a paper plane and decorated it together. After decorating it, we managed to take a group photo ( without Sakina and I ). Suddenly, the girl in the middle ( with black and whit strip scarp ) gave her paper mask to Sakina while the girl on the far right gave me her paper mask. The girl who gave me her mask is Putri. Then, it was time to compete. sadly, our group's plane did not flew the furthest but we were not so disappointed as we had fun.Lastly, we had class photo with the orphans ( I did not manage to take picture ). After the class photo with the orphans, it was time to go back home. It was really difficult to leave them and so I, as well as some other friends, cried badly. We were really sad to leave them.
After that, we went to a seafood restaurant. There, we had a talk by one of our instructor, Instructor Afiq. The talk was about appreciating our parents. Keisha, Faatin and I cried the loudest among our table and class. We were really really touched and emotional. After the talk, we had to write a letter to a person that we love. It was really really emotional during that time. Almost everyone cried. After the sadness, we ended off eating and guess what... KARAOKE!!!! It was soooooooo fun KARAOKE with our groups. Even the teachers each had a chance to karaoke. Finally, we went back to our resort and had a great sleep.
Day 3:
Day 3 was only last day in Bintan. Firstly, we had our breakfast at the same restaurant as Day 2. After breakfast, we were allowed to go around the resort. Some of my friends and I took pictures with our favourite instructor, Instructor Zul.
After taking pictures, we went to a gift shop to buy some sourveneirs to bring home. I bought some keychains and also a bracelet. I love the bracelet most as it was really nice. After buying sourveneirs, we went to the lobby to take a class photo. Below is the clas photo.
Then, we headed to the ferry terminal. We ate lunch near the seaside. The seaside was really beautiful. After that, we took the ferry at headed back to Singapore. On our way back to our school ( in the bus ), we had lots of fun singing with our instructors. They made us laugh like we had never laughed before. It was really fun in the bus with them. I am really sad to leave them. I hope to see them again.
