29/10/2010 ( Reflection on Pulau Ubin )

This is the bumboat that we use to travel to Pulau Ubin. It was my first ride on a bumboat. I felt really excited and nervous.I was scared if I got seasick and would vomit. On our way to Pulau Ubin, we look at the scenery and it was really beautiful. Luckily, I did not feel too dizzy and vomitted. I was too busy taking pictures of my friends in the boat and the scenery during the journey. The journey was not long and I had lots of fun in the boat.

This is a picture of the scenery in the bumboat. I think it is very beautiful.

When we reached Pulau Ubin, we saw a board saying "Welcome To Pulau Ubin". Then, I could see lots of villages. Those villages looks old but still quite nice. I was really excited by then. My friends and I started to take pictures of each other. Even before we start the 'game', we already took lots and lots of pictures. Unfortunately, when we started the 'game', we were not able to take pictures as we were in the jungle. It was dark there so we could not get enough sunlight to take pictures.

Above is a picture of my group, "The Unique Raptors". Thanks to my instructor and them, I really enjoyed myself. They are really great group members. Our leader is Nick Chan.
The girls' team is originally called "The Unique Crew"
The boys' team is originally called "Raptors"
Combined team is called "The Unique Raptors"
The Pulau Ubin trip is a very adventurous and educational trip. It makes me more excited of the Bintan trip as it is a trial. From the Pulau Ubin trip, I learned how to use the map together with the compass. I learned that teamwork is the most important thing in this trip.We have to really decide where we want to go first as a team. It is very important to communicate during discussion and trekking. We had a lot of trouble trying to make the right decision. Sadly, we did not manage to finish the challenge as we thought we had no more time. It was really exhausting on our way back to the starting point but at the same time, it was really fun exploring Pulau Ubin. I learned a lot in this trip and it is also very meaningful. I'm happy that I get a chance to go on this trip. It will also help me for the Bintan trip.
