Learning Journey to Pulau Ubin
29 October 2010, a day that I will remember forever. It was the day when I first rode a boat, experienced the wild, and what it feels like when you are lost in the jungle. I also learned how to use a compass properly! I love Pulau Ubin. It's so easy to get there, and it takes less then 15 minutes from mainland to Pulau Ubin using a boat.
The picture on the left shows a quarry on the East of Pulau Ubin. The lake you see was once a pool for some people before it was fenced up. Unfortunately, too many people drowned in the lake and they decided to fence it up and turned it into a quarry. My cousin who has been there before it was fenced up used to go there and swim. The water in the picture was very calm and clear.
The picture on the left is a painting I took at a nearby shop. I didn't ask why it was painted but it is very beatiful. It shows a scene at the beach, the waves were gentle, and a couple enjoying the wind, sitting under a coconut tree.

The picture on the right shows a village. There used to be a few thousands that settled there in the 1960's, but there are about a 100 villagers that lives there today.

The picture on the right is a picture I took as I was going into Pulau Ubin as shown below. It is very beautiful and I just had to take a Picture of it. I love how the sun shone and how the water reflected it. It's just nice.
Overall, I loved the learning journey. I recommend people to go to Pulau Ubin and experience the wild as it is not commonly found on mainland of Singapore. If you do not want to walk, you can rent bicycles there for S$2 there. You can cycle on the path all over Pulau Ubin.
What are you waiting for? If you want to experience it, go to Pulau Ubin now!
